Little Italy

On a sizzling HOT Labor Day weekend, we decided to take a staycation in Little Italy which surrounds the intersection of India Street and West Date Street. This not-so-hidden gem of San Diego can often get overlooked by tourists that explore Seaport Village and the Gaslamp District and is often frequented by locals.

The pool scene at The Carte Hotel had a nice crowd. Surprisingly, they didn’t even play music over speakers and made the scene a bit awkward.

Farmers Market is every Saturday on Date Street in Little Italy.

Bencotto has lots of promise after reading online reviews. We had a great time on the patio outside and did plenty of people watching while enjoying great pasta.

The street scene was lively during COVID-19 restrictions in both the day and nighttime.

The upstairs patio of Morning Glory looked like lots of fun. Unfortunately, the line was the longest in Little Italy for both Saturday and Sunday Brunch. It seems to be a locals’ favorite.
